She tries to fit in with the class but ends up being an easy target for Shoya and his friends to intimidate. When news of the bullying reaches the principal, Shoya is pointed out as the culprit by his teacher, causing the class bullying to be directed against him. In June 2021, first-year high school student Hodaka Morishima escapes Kōzu-shima in order to get away from his troubled family life for Tokyo. As Hodaka goes bankrupt and struggles to find work, he meets Hina Amano, an employee of a McDonald’s restaurant. She pities him and feeds him.
